Home care advocate urges lawmakers to raise the global Medicaid cap

Home Healthcare Workers of America’s Vice President Joseph Pecora spoke out on behalf of members in a report by Spectrum 1 News/Capital Tonight to bring awareness to the shortage of home healthcare workers and urge lawmakers to raise the Medicaid Global Spending Cap.

“We need to raise the Medicaid Cap so home health care agencies can retain, compete and recruit more workers into the industry,” Pecora explained.

According to Pecora, raising the Medicaid Global Cap would allow agencies to raise the compensation for these workers to at least $22.50 an hour.
